Jon Brunson and his friend, insurance expert Jeff Grabiak, were relaxing at a campfire during a hunting trip when they started talking about people they knew who’d been injured while enjoying the outdoors.  Both realized the opportunity to create a product, unique in scope, to better protect outdoor enthusiasts.

                   Two years later, after much research, and countless discussions the Outdoorsman Survival Card was launched.  “When we go into the outdoors, we’re safety conscious. We know to have a safety harness, or helmet, whatever is needed to do our sports safety,” said Jon Brunson. “But although we’ve thought about safety, we haven’t thought about all the possible consequences if we have an accident while we’re doing the things we love.”            

The product is a combination of insurance and non-insurance benefits.  Insurance benefits are underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Co., an AIG company, and Guarantee Trust Life.

            Most outdoorsmen, like most Americans, don’t have enough insurance protection in the event of death or disability. In the case of an accident, the OSC has you covered:

The ability to show a land owner that you have the protection in the OS card could make a difference in getting their permission.
